World Marathon and Half Marathon Championship of Members of Parliaments
is a very special event which enables people professionally engaged in politics to test their strength in an international sporting competition. It is a challenge for all those who want to pit themselves against the long marathon distance, as well as an opportunity to meet, and share experience with MPs from all over the world. Apart from its athletic aspect, participation in the Championship has also a symbolic dimension - its common goal unites participants above political, cultural or national divisions.
The Sixth World Marathon and Half Marathon Championship of Members of Parliaments will take place in Poznań (Poland) on October 11, 2009 together with the 10th Annual Poznań Marathon. The expected program includes also official meetings with representatives of the Polish parliament and local authorities, as well as the unofficial, entertainment part, including sightseeing of Poznań.
Parliamentarians willing to register for the Marathon may do so by submitting the registration card available at this site or by contacting the Championship Office.
